Happy Wednesday, y'all! It's time to check in on my weight loss goals. I have officially gained 3 lbs.
Puh. My week, last week, went down hill fast. This stupid eye. The "infection" got worse and I had to go in on Sunday afternoon for a doctor to look at it. At that point, they increased the dosage of one of my eye drops. On Tuesday, they looked at my eye again and now they think I'm allergic to the medicine. So, two new eye drops and $400 later.....we shall see. However, I did stop the other drops and my eye is less angry so I took my happy self to the gym. And, it was wonderful!
As usual, any and all advice and tips are welcomed!
This is a girl on a mission and apparently, going in the wrong direction. xoxo Rebecca

This past week has had a lot of ups and downs. First, Mother's Day was wonderful. This was my second Mother's Day and my guys spoiled me. We were ready for church, but ran late. So, we went to have taco's at Velvet Taco. Yummy! I didn't see my own mom, but we have plans to celebrate a little later. Max was having an off day though. He kept bumping his head on things and "falling". I think he was doing that on purpose. So, he had bath time a little early. He loved that.
He is the sweetest!
After Mother's Day, it all went down hill. My right eye, the one I had surgery on, started itching. It was a little pink on Monday during the day. But, Monday night it was full on red. A nice bright, angry red. So, back to the doctor I go. I have been trying to take it easy and not spread this stupid infection, they made sure to tell me it is not pink eye, but a viral infection. However, every single day this week we have been busy. How does that happen?
Last night, I did get to go to the New Kids on the Block concert. It was amazing, as usual. I have been to each of their reunion tours since they came back. Are they considering these reunion tours? I'm not sure. But, they know their audience well. A bunch of middle aged women. It's so much fun!!!
My goal is to get back on track next week. I am so sick and tired of dealing with this eye issue. I miss my contacts and hate wearing glasses. Plus, I don't see very well out of my right eye. I could panic and cry about it, but eh. There are worse things. xoxo Rebecca

Since 2016, I panic when it rains. We flooded during tax day flood here in Houston. Thankfully, we did not flood during Harvey, but I was pregnant. So, we picked everything up and left. We were just finishing remodeling our house in 2016 when the water flowed right on in. The day we flooded we were suppose to get the counter tops put on in the kitchen. But, instead we had to remodel, again. That was a super hard year. Plus, we were still going through infertility treatments and we lost a bunch of our stuff because it was boxed (in cardboard) and stacked in various places. Once cardboard gets wet, it's a mess. So, everything we own is stored in plastic tubs and we don't keep a lot in storage. For now, everything is picked up and about a foot off the ground so we don't lose stuff. I sleep better knowing I did all I could. However, our house is getting elevated within the next year. That should be interesting. Until then, my boots are ready and family members are on-call.
My husband got home last night in the middle of the downpour. He had to stop for milk and bought me some beautiful tulips. In my kitchen window I have gardenias from my garden. There are two buds about to bloom and the other flowers died, so I pinched them off. After our house is raised I hope to put in a new vegetable garden. My old one shifted 4 feet during the flood and I never replaced it. Plus, I had way to many cucumbers. So many that I refused to buy a cucumber until recently, because I was so sick of them. So were my neighbors.
So today, Max and I are chilling at the house, watching Harry Potter and, playing with trucks. That doesn't sound like a bad day at all. Although, I wish we weren't waiting for the rain. I need to look at the radar and see what's going on. Last I heard the storm had moved off over the Gulf. But, I should check with my own eyes.

Today has been one of those crazy busy days that seems to go on forever.
Max tried out tumbling tots today. He did great! He really enjoyed the trampoline. After tumbling, we grabbed lunch and headed over to see Max's KeKe. Also known as my niece Kelly. He got to run around the office and I got to talk to adults! Win-Win. Speaking of lunch..... Have y'all seen these noodles? They are made from chickpeas.
And, they are yummy! I was a little worried. We found these at Whole Food, but I'm hoping other stores carry them. Kroger doesn't, at least, my Kroger doesn't. I added some kale, bison (we didn't have any ground beef), bell pepper and other spices to our noodles. Max loved it! But, he likes just about everything.
I should have let him try my lunch from the other day. Trader Joe's needs to open a store in my area of town. The Spicy Lentil Wrap is so yummy! I did eat the wrap before the expiration date.
However, this will be my last taste of noodles and the yummy wrap for a while. I actually had a little feedback from yesterdays post. So many people said try Keto. I should say I have done Keto once before. It was the month or two before I was pregnant. It was great back then. Hopefully, this time around goes well. I will let y'all know!

Going to the gym is like therapy to me. I love it!! However, I think my workout needs a revamp. I used to be a runner then, 11 years of infertility drugs and a 60 lb weight gain. UGH! That doesn't include the baby weight, but I lost that quickly. My doctor was happy with my weight gain during pregnancy. It was all baby. In the last year, I have lost 20 lbs.
So, here I am needing to lose 40 lbs. That seems like an daunting number to me right now. But, here is my game plan: From this day forward, I will check in on Wednesdays with amount lost or gained and workout plans. I believe my food intake is in check, but that can be included. Meanwhile, I am taking a break from the gym today. Going 4 times a week is pretty good, right?
I pulled the above workout out of a magazine a while back. Laminated it with packing tape so I can wipe it off and have been using it on and off for a while. Today it looks like I am on the hunt for more "plans" like this. I like to have everything written down. A checklist would be even better!
In the meantime, since I can't seem to go shopping with a 1 year old, I need to order some new workout clothes online. I will work on that this afternoon. The little one also needs new shoes. He has HUGE feet! Any tips, tricks or encouragement is welcome! xoxo Rebecca

Let me start with; I know how blessed I am. I get to stay home with my baby. Oh, but, he keeps me so busy. I wonder how this would work if I had a job. Either way, it's hard and a blessing. Please do not take that as me whining. I'm just tired....Happy Monday!
This weekend Max got to go to his second baseball game. We went to see his cousin play. Man, is that kid good. And a sweetheart. After the game we scooted over to the duck park. I live in the same area I grew up in and no one had a clue this park had an actual name. Everyone calls it the duck park. But, man has it changed over the years. The county added a toddler playground and a bridge over the pond. It's pretty awesome. Max and I will be visiting a little more often. Max got to swing for a bit and people watch. I hope he loves people watching as much as I do. His dad just doesn't get it.
I love his little Astro's jersey. My niece put our last name on the back making it so much cuter!
Saturday night my husband and I went to a Kentucky Derby themed gala. So much fun! The theme was a little last minute so I had to rush to come up with a hat. Couldn't find one that I liked that didn't cost 60 million dollars, so I made a fascinator. It wasn't perfect, but it matched and was perfect for the gala.
A night out with the hubby was great, but I missed my boy. I did enjoy a mint julep though and would have loved another one. haha.
We are also the proud winners of Astro's tickets! We can't wait to take Max to his first game at Minute Maid Park. A couple of years ago my family took me to lunch and to tour Minute Maid Park for my birthday. It was really neat. Can't wait to take Max! In other words I have a terribly long list of things I want to do with the boy. That includes going to Maxine's Chicken and Waffle in Indianapolis (so good!!) and Pike Place Market in Seattle. Hope my husband is ready. xoxo Rebecca

Yay! Wednesday!
Today is the start of the slow down for our week. We don't have to be anywhere at a certain time. Which is amazing considering I have a 14 month old. Today we are going to the gym and washing clothes. I'm really tired of everything smelling like milk. Or, being sticky. Yuck!
I believe the only thing keeping me sane these days are my planners. Yes, planners. I have two. I have always been a planner/calendar girl. I still have my calendar's from 9th grade! It's fun to look back and see what you were doing.
These are my babies. My faithful Erin Condren and, a travelers notebook I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. It was less than $8, and so worth it! I have a all of my Erin Condren life planners in my closet. Six years worth of planners. Every once in a while this comes in handy. Especially, medically. I'm not sure where my obsession with planners comes from. I don't believe either of my parents keep anything like this, nor do my siblings. Anyway, I would love to know that they do keep something similar.
Yep, stickers and all! Haha
I was always the kid who would work extra hard for a cool sticker. My sticker books from elementary are on my bookshelf today. It wasn't hard to get me to do something if I knew I was getting a sticker at the end. Teachers!!!! I hope you are listening. Those silly little star stickers will not do, Etsy has lots of cheap, awesome stickers. Does anyone remember running through Journey's at the mall, just to get one of their hand shaped stickers? Was it just a couple of us that did that? Erin Condren is the best. They are always evolving. Now they have added Petite Planners to their site. I can't wait to try them out.
And, they should fit perfectly in the cover I already have. I keep lists, important information and Bible Study notes in this notebook. It's so easy to change and make it just what you need it to be at the moment. The I love TX notebook is from MayDesigns. They have some beautiful notebooks.
I feel like I just let y'all in on my dirty little secret. Usually, no one is allowed to see my planners, much less the inside of them. But, here they are.
Also, I have another prayer request. This one is for a dear sweet cousin who had a medical issue come up suddenly. Please pray for complete healing. xoxo Rebecca |
