Yesterday the LO was in a mood. Today, he isn't taking a nap. He really needs a nap. This girl is wanting to read and/or knit. Those two things are nearly impossible when he is awake. Even though mom is staying with us, it doesn't get that much easier. My poor momma has been with us since March 4th. That's when we found out I was going to have emergency surgery for a detached retina. I haven't been able to pick up Max since then. Hopefully we will have good news on Thursday. In the meantime, I have thoroughly enjoyed having mom at the house. It has been fun watching her read the same stories she read to me, when I was little, to Max. One favorite was Winnie-the-Pooh. This one is from 1975. Isn't it great! I remember singing the Tigger song. Tigger and Eeyore were my favorites. Eeyore just needed a hug, I was convinced. There is something I love about old books. The smell. The feel of the pages. Maybe it's just the memory of the first time reading, or, in this case reading it over and over again.
At my baby shower, mom blessed me with a box full of our childhood books. My brother and I have fun going through them when he comes over. That is if Max will let us. Max LOVES his Uncle PJ. Now, hopefully, it's time for a nap! XOXO Rebecca

Carbs are great! Unless you are trying to stay away from carbs. I was trying. Then I had to have emergency surgery for a detached retina. Now, carbs and I have been reacquired after a short hiatus. But, yummy! We had an impromptu breakfast party at my house. Einstein Bros. Bagels to the rescue. See that spinach one on top? The one with the green goop on it. That one is mine! mmmm..... Even my 1 year old loves the spinach. He loves to eat green foods. Hopefully, he will stay that way. I have my doubts. My breakfast game needs some work. The other day my son had oatmeal, stawberries and pears. I had a cake pop. But, have y'all tried the new lemon cake pop from Starbucks? I love all things lemon! And this did not disappoint!
We are a household that LOVES books. Yesterday, mom and I took Max to a reading at Barnes and Noble. Little Blue Truck is my son's most favorite book. Yesterday, they read Little Blue Truck Springtime. The little kids were so cute!! Every time someone asked this one little girl who do you think will be behind a flap (it was obviously an animal) she would respond with "Elsa!". This little girl was also wearing the most sparkly red dress. She was a doll! Max. He listened for a while, but the wheels on his stroller caught his attention and off he went. I just finished reading The Women in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware. Meh. The ending was pretty good, but I had so many questions. The action took place in the last 15 pages. If only there was more of that. However, I would/will read another one of her books. I finally started Crazy Rich Asians. by Kevin Kwan. So excited! I'm only on page 24, but so far it is so good. Hopefully it will not take me a month to read this one. After having my LO every time I sit down, I fall asleep.
